Hans Christian Andersen was a Danish author. Although He wrote many plays, travelogues, novels and poem, he is well remembered for his literary fairy tales. His work translated into more than 150 languages. Also the work inspired many movies, plays, ballet and animations.
His family was so poor that his grandmother worked at hospital cleaner. This background affected to him a lot.
His fairy tales were becoming famous, so he had honor to win prizes, and his picture was printed as a postage stamps.

The notable works are “The Little Mermaid”, ”The Ugly Duckling”, ”The Snow Queen” and more.
